Description

This individual course also forms part of the Canadian Patient Safety Program.

This course was developed in partnership with the Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) and material has been sourced and adapted from learning materials from the three-day Human Factors in Healthcare course offered by HQCA, W21C, and the Alberta Health Services human factors team.

By the time you finish this course, you’ll have a better understanding of the importance of human factors and human factor engineering in the context of a dynamic and complex system, and the impact human factors design can have on the safety of those who work and are cared for within it. Learners will also practice evaluating usability by engaging real users to understand human factors challenges and potential improvement opportunities
