Welcome to the FSNM Essentials – People-Centred Food Service Course enrolment page
This course introduces the essential role healthcare food service and nutrition managers play in delivering people-centred care that honours client voice, choice, dignity, and well-being. You will explore the social determinants of health, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), as well as anti-racism, reconciliation, and trauma-informed care—understanding how these principles directly impact patient safety, trust, and access to care. The course emphasizes the importance of cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competence, recognizing how culture, food traditions, and dietary needs influence health and recovery in diverse healthcare settings.
By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide safe, respectful, and culturally responsive food services that enhance the client experience and contribute to quality care.
